Mr. Wang Guoyi and Affiliated Companies Scholarship Application Guidelines
> Origin:
Inspired by the compassionate wish-power of Bodhisattvas to alleviate suffering, Mr. Wang Guoyi, the Chairman of Guanchen Construction Co., Ltd., has long been assisting students in numerous elementary and middle schools across Taiwan, actively visiting schools in need. Guanchen Construction Co., Ltd. will continue to support a scholarship program for financially challenged students in Taiwan, helping them pursue education with peace of mind. The following guidelines are hereby established.
> Purpose:
- Assist financially challenged students in pursuing education.
- Prevent students from wandering outside of school hours.
- Provide assistance and condolences in case of sudden family incidents.
- Eligibility:
Financially challenged students currently attending public elementary and middle schools across Taiwan.
- Application Criteria:
- Hold a valid low-income household certificate.
- Hold a certificate for special family circumstances.
- Financially challenged and in need of assistance, with approval from a teacher.
- Sudden family incidents with approval from a teacher.
- Subsidized Items/Amounts:
- Peaceful Learning: (School) miscellaneous fees, breakfast (lunch) fees, book fees, stationery fees, uniform fees (including backpack),
Transportation Fees:
- After-School Activities: After-school tutoring fees(only for tutoring related to academic subjects within the school)
- Emergency Aid: Emergency aid (maximum of $5,000 per student, subject to increase based on circumstances)
- The subsidy amounts should be applied with the principles of accuracy, flexibility, and emergency assistance, following each school's individual case evaluation.
- The scholarships issued in this program must be managed by the schools. Except for emergency aid, cash will not be directly distributed.
- This scholarship program is long-term, and applications can be submitted every semester.
- Items not eligible for subsidy:
1. Fees related to talent/sports clubs: Talent teacher hourly fees, club fees, competition accommodation and transportation fees, material fees, etc.
2. Equipment, teaching tablets, projectors, etc.
3. Field trips and graduation trip expenses exceeding one day.
4. After-school tutoring and talent class fees outside of school.
5. Cash-disbursed scholarships.
- Application/Review/Allocation/Finalization Procedures:
(1) In principle, each school should accept applications within two months after the start of each semester (emergency cases can be contacted directly by phone). An Scholarship Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Review Committee) should be formed for initial review within the school.
(2) Applicants should fill out the application form (see Annex 1) and submit it to the class teacher for review by the Review Committee. The Review Committee will conduct a needs-based review, suggest the amount of the scholarship, and record the proceedings according to the needs of each case.
(3) Upon approval, please prepare a qualified roster (see Annex 2), along with the Review Committee's meeting records and the school contact form (see Annex 3). Submit the application by fax or mail to the organizing unit.

(4) When the organizing unit reviews school data and requires additional information, it will contact the responsible person at each school by phone. The subsidy amount will be based on the amount reviewed by the organizing unit.
(5) As this scholarship program is long-term and continuous, after each semester, applying schools should submit the detailed financial report of the subsidy to the organizing unit by fax for closing, and can apply for the next semester's subsidy.
